i'm not sure if this is from 1944 but if that is true then this is the oldest sidewalk art i've run across...i'll have to research this one...turns out only two historical things happened that day and they are:1944 - World War II: The Battle of Leyte Gulf ends.
1944 - Future Vice-president, and later, President Harry Truman publicly denies ever having been a member of the Ku Klux Klan.

so i'm still not sure...
